TO YOUR LEARNING EXPERIENCES, WE LISTEN: CELEBRATING EDUCATIONAL DATA WITH OUR SLEQ EXHIBITION

From April 18-21, T&LEMU invited members of the HKU community to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Student Learning Experience Questionnaire (SLEQ). Our team is excited to report that over 400 students and staff participated in the four-day event.

The theme of the exhibition was “The Arts of Educational Data” to show the importance of educational data and how it is used in higher education today. Several display boards highlighted how HKU uses student data to close the feedback loop and promote quality improvement of teaching and learning. We featured previous student feedback on topics including hall life and international exchange, and encouraged student participation in the SLEQ.

The exhibition also featured an interactive component where we invited students to participate in several “message boards” and pin up words or emojis to describe how they feel about their university experience. Popular descriptions included friendship, freedom, adventurous, and challenging. Students also showed their artistic side with a fun university life colouring board.

Our staff enjoyed interacting with students, listening to their feedback and inviting them to participate in this year’s SLEQ. A big thank you to all who helped and participated!
