Presenting at HK’s Learning and Teaching Expo 2021

T&LEMU Director Dr. Maggie Zhao presented at the Learning and Teaching Expo 2021 (LTE 2021) on December 8, and shared her research and perspectives in her presentation titled Positive Psychology and Big Data in Education, which brought inspiration to a large number of audiences in attendance.

When sharing her recent research studies and insights about measuring well-being based on big data, Maggie gave articulations and implications of how PERMA well-being pathways contribute to the cultivation of flourishing in schools and why well-being is not the absence of ill-being. Moreover, she provided insights for challenges and opportunities that educators can review in the application of positive psychology for enhancing student learning and well-being.

The LTE 2021 featured a variety of education exhibits and leading-edge seminars among others. The presentation by Dr. Zhao was part of the section Education in the Post-pandemic Era. Observing participants’ interactions with the speaker, it was evident that positive psychology and data science are gaining attention in the education field.
